I am really worried just now Zippy came out the cage and went flying out of the lounge and then into the hall she sat on my shoulder and started bringing up dry seeds She was moving her neck up and down and bringing up loads of seeds I am about to Hoover they went over the floor, in my hair ugh all over the place I have put her back in the cage and she has stopped now. Is she I'll? Should I take her to the vet? What does this mean? Please can anyone help advise.

Is she maybe trying to feed you? I am no expert but my elf brought up whole seeds and it was like a total shower of them,he did this a number of times it was like he was being sick,i took him to the vets and got meds for him as it was a crop infection...i am not saying this is what is going on with zippy and i am sure others will come along soon to help you out with better advice,i can only tell you what happened with elf... Keep an eye on her for now and try not to worry to much right now x

Hi Moogie I don't think she was trying to feed me and if she was I hope she doesn't do it again! She is quite lively at the moment but she does sneeze from time to time and fluff up but please what is a crop infection?

And is she the only budgie you have? Hi Zippy is around 13 weeks old and she is my only budgie. She seems fine today I haven't risked taking her out the cage though!

Don't worry, and let her be on her usual routine. This sounds normal to me in your situation. Reason 1; Lone bird do this to their owners, as it is a sign of affection and love between birds. Lovie did this all the time, and still does sometimes but now knows that we don't like it. Reason 2; She is learning to regurgitate food. They normally do so around this age.

Hi thank you so much for advising me can I ask how did your budgie know that you don't like it when she regurgitates food. I really didn't like it, whilst I now know this is natural I really don't want her to keep doing it. What did you do to stop your budgie?

Just so you know..
Regurgitation is normal and you'll see an up and down movement with their head and neck as they empty their crop, where they store their undigested seed.
Vomiting is not normal and you'll see them more moving their head from side to side, often flicking bits of it around, and leaving a wet mess on their face or cheeks.

When Elfie was being sick his head was going from side to side-loads and loads of seeds went EVERY WHERE but i have to say he did not have any wet mess on face cheeks or any where...i suppose all cases are different especially with my two
