Hi guys, I'm new to the forum, and wondering if you more experienced people would be able to help me. The pet shop owner told me my budgie was a girl, but I am thinking boy. They said he/she is around 10 weeks old. I'm hoping if i post a couple of pics, someone may be able to help me. It's not for breeding or anything, it's purely for when I talk to him/her. Thank you in advance =o)
Chelle
Do i need to have my pictures online before I can post them here? I don't have any on the internet, they are saved to my computer =o(

Hi Chelle, with the sex, I'm afraid I cannot help as I have a Lutino myself and I am stumped!

HI and welcome to the forum, to you and your budgies! As far as I understand the genetics, lutinos don't have blue ceres. I have a lutino male, Luee, as you'll see in my avatar. He has a very pale pink cere. What colour are your budgie's feet? My guess is double factor spangle male. BudgiesBuddy is our resident genetics guru. He will keep us right!

I am the same as you lemonade I haven't got a clue what Jo is, though the breeder said he was male. The way he is moulting at the moment he will look like a bald eagle

Thank you guys I am thinking a cock too. The Cere is pink, little bit of white around the nostrils, but only a little as in the photos. his feet are pink too, with red eyes...he's a total beauty, and very shy with me so far. He wont come onto my hand as yet, but he is happy to fly about the room lol. My other boy will come onto my hand after pecking me first...not sure what thats all about, he's always been that way. Thanks again

oh he/she does sound like a lutino - the cere looked quite blue in the photos. I'm not sure about sexing lutinos apart from the obvious hen in breeding condition signs

I have read a little, and looked at some pictures online, but some of the ones they say are female, look like my chicken licken's cere lol, so I found it a little confusing and thought I'd be better getting opinions from you guys I def think a boy though, he's totally come out of his shell today, though still refusing to come on my hand. He's not panicking though, just moving away slowly lol.

chelle, pictures are always a bit deceiving. You are the better judge in person. Take the above picture as reference and let us know.
