Lillian has a strange foot, she is from the RSPCA so I don't know her background, only that she is 6 years old. Is her foot deformed? The front to claws don't seem to work....one sticks out sideways at a funny angle and hte other one just stays out straight, it doesn't grip her perch. She seems to use her other foot for holding onto things with. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Not sure which foot you mean, they both seem to have a stiff toe. How long have you had her? The reason I ask is because I had a rescue bud with feet that didn't sit right but it was due to incorrect perches meaning she had held her feet in an odd position for so long that they no longer functioned correctly. After about 6 months with me she had corrected the position of her toes and now has normal feet.

It is her left foot, the pictures arent great but when you see her feet it is quite prominent. The long claw that you can see just sticks out, like you say is looks stiff. The one next to it which you can also see onthe pic kind of goes sideways and doesn't move. Like they are both stuck together. I've had her for about 2 months now.

It is quite possible that her feet are slightly deformed - I can see what you are meaning with those two toes - or it could be that she has damaged them sometime in the past. It is no big deal as long as she has her balance and I can see she has lovely natural perches so in my mind I would put her feet, and your question , into the "curiosity" category, rather than being something to worry about. The claw on her long toe is really short ...... is that the way it is, or has it been clipped?

Thanks for replies guys. It's put my mind at rest. She seems to get about okay so I'm hoping it doesn't bother her. We clipped the nail when we got her as it was extremely long, it is short but we tried our best to make sure it didn't go too short that it would bleed (which it didn't). It was getting caught on things and was curling around again under her foot, bless her.

she could have broke them when she was younger or they were deformed at hatching x
