Well, whatever they were saying, Boo can understand them at least. He came over to join in.

I have thought that a time or two ffiscool.
All that chatter must mean something, or certain parts of it. When I played that last video back both Joey and Whiskers stopped and listened. Normally, like boo, they would join in. I have noticed on occasions if Joey is in the cage and Whiskers in our conservatory that Whiskers will fly back to the top of the cage, chirp something (always the same chirp) and Joey will fly out of the cage and the pair of them will go into the conservatory. It's a bit like "come on then, let's go". Highly amusing. I can understand the flock call and the danger call, however there seems to be another call, very like the danger one, that they make when flying around. But they only do it sometimes. Maybe there is something in the Budgiepedia about it.

Budgiepedia I love your two boys, they certainly are the best of friends aren't they? And little mischief Whiskers loves to lead Joey astray it seems! And Whiskers pirouette is to die for!

Joey certainly is learning from Whiskers. He used to have quite a job turning round on the perch, but now he is quite smooth at it. Not as good as Whiskers by any means. Stace is our budgiepedia, full of interesting information.

I have a feeling that Joey is getting jealous when I interact with Whiskers. I have never left Joey out in fact I encourage him to interact with Whiskers and myself. Occasionally if I get Whiskers to up up onto my arm from the platform, and Joey is in the cage he will fly straight out of the cage and startle Whiskers so they both go off into the conservatory. If I am letting Whiskers preen my nose through the bars, Joey will start chirping quite loudly. The flock call I think it is. Yet Joey will step up on my finger most times and stay there until Whiskers steps up onto my arm. They will do their beak bashing and chatting with Whiskers running up and down my arm. When I go to put them down anywhere they will fly off to the conservatory perches. If I keep picking them up and putting them down they get the idea after a while. Whiskers will do it on his own, Joey will do it on his own but they will not do it straight away when they are together.

not suprising really, especially as Joey had you for a year to himself.. but I am sure once he sees he also gets the same attention, he will be ok.. must take time and we know Joey likes time

Another first for Joey. I've just seen him climbing round the cage bars. The thing is I usually let them out on a morning and yes they know it. As soon as I have had my morning coffee I go to the cage to let them out and before I get there they are both in position ready to escape. Now today I am having to go out so I cannot let them out because of my burglar alarm. Every time I even look at the cage they get ready to come out, a rod for my own back I know. Anyway I heard a load of commotion in the cage and there was Joey climbing around the cage bars trying to get out and Whiskers was just screeching at him. I have left them before and never had this. I feel like a real bad so and so today.

They certainly know which buttons to press OP. I think we've all had that feeling at some time.

I get a plaintive squeal when I don't let Boo out. It kills me.

My boys like to try and wake me up in the morning! As soon as the kettle starts boiling in the kitchen then they well and TRULY start singing Tee hee. In the morning, if I'm up and haven't taken Boo's cover off to let him out, he leaps onto his little raised platform perch and starts dinging dinging dinging his big metal bell.

Well it was all quiet when I entered the house, but as soon as they heard me reset the alarm all hell broke loose. I think I had been missed. It was too late to let them out so they had to make do with me chatting to them. It seemed to be appreciated. All is back to normal now. The occasional banging of the mirror on the side of the cage, chattering and singing to each other.
