Hi!I'd like to know why you use wooden cages (that in Italy are called "english cages") to breed budgerigars.are they easier to clean?

In general we don't use wooden breeding cages.

Are you meaning the cages? Mostly these are metal, either painted or powder coated. Or do you mean the nest boxes? These generally are wooden; I think just easier to build is the main reason. Not really sure about that.

The reason they are closed on five sides is to make them feel more secure and safe, also they want be distracted from other breeding pairs. Though alot of breeders are now opting for the all wire cage, just personal preference.

They were very popular at one stage, but now slowly giving way to all wire cages.
