I thought Marianne must have trouble with hearing the tele with her flock and she did say she uses headphones but.....starlingqueen......it begs the question.....do you have a tele in the same room as your African grey and the macaw because they are very big noisy birds I've taken the cover off my two as they haven't been back in that cage since I covered it.....and now Sid is starting a moult (again!) so I best leave them with what they're used to I suppose. They are indeed in the same room as the TV, as is the conure. But they aren't half as noisy as the one little bud, Echo, who's also in the room. They don't tend to twitter like buds do and only really make a loud noise when I leave the room. (they are bonded to me) Meal cooking times can be noisy, when I'm in the kitchen. But we don't have the TV on until the evening when everyone is settled down. They tend to talk more than make noise really. The African Grey, Toby, often visits me and says "hello". I'll be sitting on the sofa and he climbs down his cage, across the 2 seater, past Echo, who sits next to me and onto the three seater. He seems to like having look at Echo on his way past.

What a fascinating household you must have SQ, sounds great ....mind, I'm guessing your house is somewhat larger than mine, I couldn't have any more if I was allowed no space!

When it gets really cold here and the budgies look like they need extra warmth I cover the back, top and sides of the cage with bubble wrap...they sell a big roll of it in the 99p store and it really works a treat. x

I bet your buds have ball popping the bubble wrap. You know what, they have never once tried to peck it or chew it and I've been using it every winter for years ...they are obviously missing one of us humans favourite pastimes x

Oh, my!!!!! It must be the inner child in everyone! My boys still fight over who gets the bubble wrap, and one is almost 20 yo!!!!!!!! H2O, my budgies' version of bubble wrap is the nylon insect screens over the windows. Luckily no one yet has managed to pop a hole big enough for them to get out of, but they certainly have made a mess of them! When the time comes for them to be replaced it will be with a much tougher version, for sure.

We're no allowed to pop bubble wrap in our house. My dog hates it, even the site of it makes him quiver with fear. I feel so deprived.
