Please? My Conure has a swing that he "loves" all day every day. It has got to the point where he does little else. Also when he has "finished" he flops either sideways or forward and lays there for about 30 seconds, very still. So today I did what I feel is right but still makes me feel mean, took out his lover. I feel so bad for him but think it was doing him more harm than good. @corie or BudgiesBuddy is it normal for birds to "collapse" after they copulate?

maybe he could have the swing, part of the day?
Bailey hasn't done that for a while, when I have been here, but when he did, he then looked suprised and stepped away.. trying to think if he then flopped...
possibly that is the 'relaxed' pose after excitement

In my opinion, you have. I would have done the same thing.

If I see that he is missing it too much I might do that, maybe wean him off it. In my opinion, you have. I would have done the same thing. Thank you Hezz, I know it's the right thing to do but feel like I've stolen his best friend. It's for the best reasons though.

I have seen a few get stunned, none collapse though.

He doesn't seem to be upset except he was angry when he came out and gave me a few nasty nips. But that's not unusual for him, he has his days where he is grumpy and nips just because he can. He seems to like my daughter best and when she's around no one else can touch him.
