Vet says it might be a week before he starts to feel better and the meds might upset his little tummy. I remain hopeful that we're doing all we can for him. Special thanks to you of course! x

Unfortunately fungi are funny things, and treatments can take a long time to effect a cure. They also have a habit of recurring if not completely knocked out the first time round, so heres hoping Blueboy will be fully cured. Hope it doesn't put him off his tucker too much! Good luck, Marianne, get better Blueboy!

Thank you Hezz.
This morning I have put out some Camomile and Thyme tea for Blueboy.
My little Blue fella is so middle class. He's been to Waitrose twice, gets Camomile tea, has a better health care plan than me and listens to classic FM.

Not to worry, Marianne, mine are going the same way: breakfast on wheatgrass and cooch with the addition of a pilfered branch most mornings, morning tea is fresh veges, eggfood and ground up milkthistle capsule for Blue - the other two get anything he leaves, I always make up too much, lunch time a top up of veges, depending...... and a bit later the seed goes back in. By that time they are supposed to be too full up with veges to want to eat too much more. In the meantime Smudge should have done around 10 laps around the block, Sparky goes too, just because..... he's Sparky. A rest in the heat of the day and hopefully out again for another round before dinner. This time of the year the last one doesn't always happen - it is just too damn hot to not have the ceiling fans going.... sorry, budgies! As long as it is working, that's the main thing. Did you manage to get a nebuliser?

Woah!
My family think I am nuts with the amount I give my budgies and what I do for them. They refuse to give me cash gifts for birthday and christmas cos they know I will get something for the buds rather than myself. So they give me clothing vouchers!
Not managed to get hold of a nebuliser yet. Still working on it..

If it makes them healthier in the long run, it has to be worth it, I feel, and vet bills should be reduced. I am going through about half the seed I used to (well, the birds are, of course, not me really ) so something is on the right track, and I am making sure there is always something in the cage to chew on for Smudge, so she doesn't have to chew seed to work her beak over. Pharmacies should be able to point you in the right direction for a nebuliser, but they are probably cheaper on-line.

Sounds like you are doing a lot for your budgies Hezz. I am sure that your family think you are as nuts as mine do me.
Blueboy made a lot of noise last night. Little whimpers and some neck stretching for most of the night. I slept on the sofa cos I was so worried about him.
He has been having his meds and also drinking the thyme and camomile tea I make for him every day.
I keep reading that Garlic is a great anti-fungal, can I make a tea from it? - I tried to get the budgies to eat some slices of it with their regular veg but they wouldn't eat it!
If I can put some in hot water for 5 mins (maybe with the thyme and camomile?) and then put that out, would that be okay?
Going to give the Blue fella a light vicks vapour steam again tonight to see if that helps him.
Good vibes for him please people.

Forgot to mention, the vet said that the meds might upset his stomach and to get him a pro-biotic, so have ordered some today.

I can't get mine to eat garlic either, Marianne, but what about sprinkling some dry stuff over their fresh food? Like you did with the seaweed? It may work. Doesn't GA have probiotics in it?
