don't know whether you've already bought it, but I would recommend buying 2 with different powers. I have a 40 watt and a 100 watt. I keep my budgies in an outdoor aviary. I very rarely need to turn both on, but I think it's good to have the option of reducing the temperature in the aviary. I guess it depends on the size of your aviary, my heated area where they all sleep is fairly small so at the moment a 40 watt is keeping the temperature in the aviary at around 14 degrees which is absolutely fine for them I fear that 135 and 185 may get too hot for them, but if your aviary/heated part of your aviary is larger than mine it may be alright

no not at the moment, I'm in the process of finding the time to install a thermostat, I've had the tubular heating in since last year but have been monitoring the temperature manually. This year I am ridiculously busy so I am going to setup a thermostat next weekend hopefully. Up until now the 40 watt heater has been sufficient

Mine will be set up to a plug in thermostat you see so the higher wattage will be ok for me. Just ordered it all today so hopefully can get it all in and working soon.
Thanks for all the help again you've been great. One last question. How low down from the floor are we talking Barrie. Thanks
