Ira, does Munchy lunge at you when he bites, or is it more that he is doing his normal nibbling on your hand and then latches on? And I can't believe he is coming up for four!!!! Wow, where did that time go???

Hezz Unless he doesn't like what I'm doing, in which case he very clearly threatens, it's usually a sudden start. Generally it has a lunge, in that he'll sit upright on my finger and then lunge down to bite me. Not much I can do during the lunge stage because he's too fast for me to react to.

I know, right? I was getting so confused by the length of time that I thought he was nearly 5 but that didn't seem right, so eventually my bf managed to help me work out he was nearly 4. My brain got so muddled up trying to work it out because it really doesn't seem that long.

The reason I asked is as you say, too quick to react if you are not expecting it. With Smudge I went actively looking to make her react so I could discipline her for her biting; there were certain times when almost without fail she would try to bite, and would lunge out at my hand. Nothing horrible, just even getting her on my finger when out sitting on her tree, so I would go up to her heaps during the day to get her to step up, she would invariably lunge at me, and I could then put my routine to use.

I've had success in the cage like that, Hezz Biting outside the cage is a very rare occurrence, especially as Munchy will currently fly to me without fail when I call him. Might change when he loses interest in me and I have to go up to him to get him to step up
