they are a really nice family and they meant well - the suggestion of oil came from what they used to do in the second world war, dip any amputated body parts into hot oil to heal the wound and stop any infection, but in this case it went horribly wrong. He is doing loads better and I'm sure he'll be very well looked after

hi, I hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Year, I hope 2012 is a happy and prosperous one for everyone and their birds Just a quick query with regards to Ronald - he's been back at home for about a week and a half now, but his droppings are still not back to normal. They were bigger than normal before I let him go home, but I thought that this would have been due to the oil that he had ingested and the time it was taking for the oil to get out of his system. Is there anything that could be causing the larger and looser than normal droppings? I'd say one dropping was roughly the size of about 3 or 4 'normal' droppings - they were just slightly looser than normal, not watery or anything Thanks
