He's alright BB. Still nervous and making peeping noises. He needs to get used to us not grabbing him I think.

He's still very nervous. We tried to get him to go in with Jerry and Roswell last night because Hector and Abbie were pecking at him (they are a couple) but he just froze with fear and made scared peeping noises continuously.
How to soothe the savage Blueboy? - tried camomile tea, calming music, covering the cage, talking to him calmly.
Any other ideas or herbal remedies??

I don't know what you could do about that, Marianne. Besides provide him with a calm enviroment (a bit hard with 8 others). I wonder if he would be better on his own, or has he bonded with any of the others? Can he have a space with just his special friend, perhaps? Or a little cage of his own? I know these are not really probable in a unit but just trying to provide some ideas. He is such a pretty boy, and looking healthy enough in this photo, too.

Update on Blueboy. He now sleeps in the same cage as Roswell and Jerry and has been a lot quieter and calmer during the night. Less little peeps and neck-stretching.
Hector and Abbie were pecking at him (they are a couple and he kept wanting Hector to feed him which was not popular) so I decided he had to be moved.
I give Roswell, Blueboy and Jerry a couple of small bits of millet each night and they share them quite happily together. It's progress of a sort.
He even sang for a brief moment yesterday and he has not done that for months!

That must have been a wonderful sound to hear, Marianne!
I really hope he has found a space in your flock where he can fit in and not be the odd one out (know THAT feeling!) That is definitely progress! Poor little man.

That is definitely progress! Poor little man. It was a wonderful sound, I thought it was one of the others at first but it was definitely him. It was only about 10 seconds but yes it was wonderful I hope he has found somewhere to fit in too.

Is the star gazing getting better with the extra supplements? I actually haven't seen him do it for a while so they must be helping. I hadn't thought about that
