Surprised that worked - here's a few more: This picture is my first three birds from 2005 (Cheeky, Babe and Ben) now all departed.

They look lovely. Sorry you have to consider rehoming. (I am too far away).

Hi -yes they are gorgeous, noisy and ace fliers (or kami karzi pilots narrowly missing each other mid flight. It's as I suspected - my breathing became difficult in the afternoon and the anti-histamine and normal inhaler (salbutamol) did not help reduce this. Thanks for asking and caring enough to ask. Kindest regards. Sue xx

I'm too far away to rehome them even if I could. Sorry to hear that you have to give them up I do have a question, though. When you do find a home for them, how are you going to be able to get them to their new home if you can't shut them in a cage?

Hi Ira - good question - with great difficulty - I would have to be on standby waiting for the three to go in the cage at night time, turn off all lights (including TV) get to the cage and take the little chain off that holds the side door up!! Babe is so cute that I think she might try to fly in the dark if it's a means of escape. I am reducing the amount of food and water I have on top of their cage and on the trellis nailed to the wall so that they have to go inside to eat and drink. I did try to catch them with a net but stressed them (and me) out too much that I would not try that again. Kind regards. Sue xx

Have you found a solution yet for them? Sorry if I've missed the information elsewhere in the post but how old are they? And how long time have you had them? I live in Liverpool.

Hi - not yet found a solution but am waiting until I see my GP and have a blood test. They are all under one year old - Snowy about 12 months, Babe about six months and I have not yet named the last one but call her/him Baby (can't decide on a name yet) - I call them each time I come home "Hello Babies" - they are beautifully coloured birds. Snowy pestered Babe and now Babe is pestering the new one so can't figure out if the new one is a male or female (tears have not changed colour in the last one and Babe). Where are you in Liverpool? Your birds look lovely. Kind regards. Sue

Okay, let us know how it goes at the GP, hope the blood tests show he / she is wrong or that things aren't as bad as first assumed.

Hi everyone - bad news I'm afraid. The blood tests came back positive for bird fanciers lung and I have been treated for severe COPD which will not relieve these symptoms and I have always maintained that the inhalers did not work! The GP has agreed and I have dispensed with two (long lasting steroid based inhalers) and just left with the salbutamol "quick fix" for the mild COPD I have. I cannot spend the next considerable number of years (however long my babies live as they are all one year old and younger) with very severe breathing difficulties without any relief. Anti histamine did not provide any relief at all. Please can anyone provide me with the possible solutions i.e. avaries or "pet's corners" that can rehome these beautiful "free flying" birds - they cannot be locked in a cage. I'd rather suffer the consequences than see this happen. I live in the North West and will be prepared to travel to find the right home for them or can anyone think of any alternative solutions? I see Davey 51 is looking for breeding paid - would this be of any interest to him (if he reads this)? Kind regards. Sue xx
