I'm so sorry to hear that chick 2 passed. Rest in peace little chick. How are the others, and mum? n Well theres was another dilemma, dora laid another egg. After I found the egg I seen her son standing on her and dora had her tail up, but he wasnt trying to mate her he was just standing on her, preening her. :/ so I removed the egg, and put alfie (her son) in his own cage. Then yesterday she laid another egg. So dora was left with one baby still with her, that she is now attacking when she trys to get to the nest. Dora doesn't seem to be feeding her any more, so iv put her in with alfie. Il just have to keep an eye on her, shes cracking seeds but shes only 5 weeks old. Which is a little young, but seems to be doing well this morning settling in to the new cage. Im thinking of putting one of my other males in with dora today, iv removed the second egg, is this a good idea or should I just remove the nest box now and see if she stops laying? All ssuggestions welcome.

Remove the nest box, please! Budgie do not need nest boxes except for breeding. Good that you have taken the youngster out, as that was a recipe for disaster, the way things were going. You were going to end up with someone being killed, I feel. Please, do not put another male in with Dora. She does not totally know what she is doing; that is instinct!
At five weeks old the youngster should be fully self-sufficient, and it would seem she/he is, so that's good.
Put Dora back with the flock to get on with being a normal budgie, break her out of the breeding mode.

I agree, remove the box and let her rest now. They do go on laying and wont stop unless they are broken out of it, even if there is no male around. She's done well love her raising them alone, she needs a break
