Well done BertieB, it's so lovely to hear them chat away blue48. I've been meaning to record Willow again as he's learning so fast so I'll definitely give it a go ffiscool. Willow's latest phrase is 'I've got 8 toes' (he's picked up the end of the phrase 'I'm so clever, 4 plus 4 is 8, I've got 8 toes'. I can hear the 4 plus 4 bit being worked on but he hasn't got the whole thing yet. He makes me smile though. The other day he announced 'My Daddy's got a big bushy beard, my Daddy's got 8 toes' Stictly speaking his feathered daddy did have 8 toes but not his human daddy!!

I like the photo of Bailey looking at the new swing. He's probably thinking, "Where's the mirror?"

I went for a wander round my local pet shop yesterday. Bought BertieB some egg and grass seed sticks. I checked the ingredients - no sugar, honey or anything so I bought a pack and he loves them. Hopefully a good alternative to the egg food which he still doesn't eat, although it smells so good I might be tempted to put milk on and try it as a breakfast cereal The budgies in there looked so tiny, but I drooled over the cage they were in!!! I found myself looking at the poops, and generally checking them over for signs of poor health. I don't know if anyone has a branch of Jollyes nearby but they seem better than Pets at Home.

Someone I know on Twitter has a budgie who often likes to say at bedtime 'I'd like a waldorf salad'?!!! Amongst other oddities Makes me laugh all their little phrases

Trying to teach BertieB to say "Look at me, I'm upside down", because he often hangs by one leg and and looks at me as if to say "Aren't I clever?". His new toys came today. Sadly the little platform doesn't have any wingnuts so I'll get my son to see what he's got in his toolbox.

It is amazing how they learn to copy our speech so well. Ive only had lone budgies talk well but my babies many years ago all learnt to say pretty boy, they copied it from their dad who was a lone bird before i introduced him to a new wife Bailey did indeed have very many phrases when he came to live with us and then he learn't Budgie, i occasionally think i hear the odd words coming through and mixing with Budgie talk though Thank's jellybean , we've had a worrying few weeks with Tilly dog, on top of everything else. We almost lost her to chronic Pancreatitis, last week was the first week in 6 that she has begun eating properly so hopefully she's turned the corner, rough time

I'm so sorry to hear about Tilly being unwell, but glad she seems to be on the mend.
She's a tough little cookie.
Sending lots and lots of love to you Tilly ❤

I hope Tilly has a swift recovery. Pancreatitis is very nasty and painful illness in humans. Poor pooch.

Oh poor silly Tilly girl bless her So does anyone know if it's possible for a budgie to talk if he is with other birds? skysmum? What do you think what with your experience? Reason I ask is, believe it or not Nubbs has been really 'listening' to me when I talk to him lately. Like, you know how they cock their heads whilst looking at you? My Mr stupid might turn out to be quite intelligent if that's the case!!!

Tilly say's Thankyou for your well wishes everyone. Bless her she couldn't even stand on her little legs at the worst of it, our usual vet was closed so we had to take her everyday to the main practice half an hour away, she spent the days there on drips/anti sickness meds and antibiotics and we collected her in the evening for her own bed and hand feeding, that was the worst week. She will be 15 in August. It is nastie for sure blue48 , my mum had it many years ago caused by gall stones, she was in hospital for 10 weeks and went from 11 stone to 7 stone, very painful. I iz feeling much better, thankyou people'z
