Does anyone know where or if you can still get perches that have a suction at the end so you can stick it to glass? Also, just wondered what members on here would deem to be almost essential toys. So far my little sweetie has a cat toy on the bottom, a series of plastic rings ending in a bell - which he/she didn't care for in the cage but, loves it outside, a small plastic budgie that he/she loves to beat up & a series of cut up cardboard rings I've hung together with pipe cleaners. I'd like to get him/her a playstation, could you recommend any? Thank you.

Hi, I'm sorry I can't answer re suction perches, I'm just curious that you mention he/she. Do you not know what sex your bird is? How old is it, I know when they're young it's sometimes difficult, but usually they're not sold until about 8 - 12 weeks old, when you will start to see a difference in the colour of the cere? I could be wrong, and I hope if I am someone will put me right? Sorry I cant be more helpful.

Hi deedub, Welcome to the forum. I purchased my 'happy perch' from northern parrots however I'm not sure whether they still stock these. They may do other window/shower perches. I don't think I can recommend any toys as apart from the traditional plastic bird my bud Bertie likes very non traditional budgie toys as shown below.

Bells, swings and mirrors are probably the most likely fun things to be enjoyed. Some buds are toy-players; other are into social interaction, but as it sounds like you only have the one, then plenty of toys to stimulate to save from boredom are necessary. As for a play gym, can't help there; I made my own.

I see from your photo that he also likes Maltesers

Just to let you know jojo, I don't know the gender of my bird & actually I've just posted a picture asking if anyone can tell me. I suppose time will eventually tell & he does chat away, I'm curious though.

If he chats away and is a very good singer then he could be a cock bird deedub - do you have a youtube account? Are you able to post videos? Would love to see him/her in action!

Here is a video of him doing whatever it is with his cat ball toy & also chatting away. I think he's very clever at only 9.5 months but, maybe this is the norm? samwiseg @

"It's not easy" Is that what he said, there at the end?? He might be having his way with the cat ball, but on the floor of the cage, I would think, as the ball is in front of him, but the ball is very definitely his bestest friend!! He is gorgeous and, I bet, a ton of fun.
