hello Ariella, First of all welcome to the forum! About the cage, I have seen a youtuber "BudgieBunny" using the Vision 2 cage to house a parrotlet, which is about the size of a normal budgie. If you want you can check out her channel to look how her bird fit in the cage. But, I wouldn't use that cage simply because it doesn't give a lot of space to let the bird fly if it is going to stay in the cage for a lot of time. I mean it is good, and people like me, who doesn't have a lot of space for a huge cage probably should buy that, although I would look for a flight cage. In my opinion I would pick a cage that is at least either 30 inches wide or long (not height). You also need to consider how much space would left after you hang up all the toys and perches. When picking a cage for budgie, the actual width or length is more considered than the height of the cage. I actually have been trying to find a way to get a "Giantex Bird Parrot Cage Chinchilla Cockatiel Conure Large W/stand Overall 32"x18"x64" That's what my bird seller have, and I absolutely love that cage. It looks quite affordable too if I can somehow have it shipped to my rather remote country

Cant wait to see a picture when you finally get your budgie. Some say girls are easier, some say boys, but I think it depends on their personality, really. My boy is hand tamed..a bit bitey but only when he is really excited or tired(but he brings me lots of joy when he isn't being a piranha). My girl is skittish and untamed and terribly timid(it should also be said that because she is in quarantine and i have to juggle life and two birds, I dont get to spend all hours of the day with her like I could with him)... Just depends on the bird both of mine came from local Pet Shops btw. Welcome to the forum!

Just ordered some living perches, iodine blocks and toys. Cage and stand are also ordered. Cuttlefish is here and F10 too. I have family here for the next fortnight and then I will be on the hunt for a local breeder. I've messaged a couple who have advertised but I'm well aware they may have sold all babies within a fortnight. It'll be good to know what seed they use and so on in any case. Feeling excited!
