I have to agree - he knew you were a budgie-person, I reckon! Look on him as a gift from your dear departed little guy. xxxx

So that's pretty much unanimous! He's yours! Love the way fate seems to work

Oh my goodness, he is so handsome!!!! If I could I would take him but I am not in a position to do so. I've always wanted a rainbow type budgie! You found him and he needs you. Not sure if you believe in fate but I feel that it was meant to be. I hope you keep him

That is so true Hezz when I go to places that have other budgies/parrots even wild birds they just seem to be...attracted to me! SO I reckon they do know you are a birdy type

Is it something to do with the shape of the nose perhaps.

Silly thing to post on this site - knew you'd all say keep him (its exactly what I would say I'm going away in the caravan for 2 weeks soon. My neighbour is going to come in and water and feed him but I am a bit worried his going to get lonely. Also 2 weeks of pooh in the cage ! I don't have anybody he can stay with who doesnt own a cat! I used to take our blue with us but apparently there is going to be a heat wave and I am not sure it will be good for him. Noisy in the van 2 kids. Flipping heck!

2 weeks with no cage cage cleaning doesn't sound good.
How do you normally change the bottom sheet in the cage?

I normally pull the tray out and clean it thoroughly or take the whole bottom out.
I'm afraid my neighbour does not want to pull the bottom tray out! I'm going over to see her tonight and convince her that its easy

Hello lovely birdie Peeps Apologies for delay in replying. I have just returned from holiday and all is well. My Neighbour did a fab job of looking after Rainbow (yes, he has been named by the children). She even managed to get her husband in a few times to sing and chat to him! She plucked up the courage to clean the bottom of the cage a number of times so all is good. I'm still not sure how I feel about having another feathered buddy yet. He is such a pretty little chap so I will just see how it goes. Id really appreciate your thoughts on his claws? I'm not keen on man handling him again to trim his claws. He has not forgotten the last assault trying to read his id ring!!!! But if you think they need to be done, its probably better to do it now before I build any trust with him. What do you think please? Many thanks - Andrea

I think the rule is this:- If he can stand on a flat surface without his toes lifting off the ground, then they don't need clipped.
Glad all was well when you came back from holiday. Hope you had a lovely time.

Welcome back!
The nails don't look too long to me.

His claws are fine; they are not even the slightest bit too long! Glad everything went swimmingly with the holiday, and the neighbours.

Yep claws are great mrsfuffsters! As long as he has a cuttle he can walk about on as well as chew it should keep them down. Trouble with claw clipping is once you start....you have to continue! So it is better if they get filed naturally Glad you had a good time....so....what's the future for you and the little guy? Tell us tell us go on PLEEEEEEEEASE!
