Hi everyone! I hope I posted this in the right place I am thinking of getting pet budgies this November and would like to make a responsible desision about the cage We have 110 by 70 cm desk for the cage, but the cages I have found so far seemed quite small. I did like the Riviera Monaco XL (80 by 50 cm) but the others are much to narrow and tall. I think the Vision Large is also an OK cage. Have you any ideas or suggestions? Thanks so much!

Where about do you live? It's just that I have a Vision Large that's looking for a good home. It is almost new with the original box and everything.

I recently changed my bird cage from a vision to a Ferplast Canto. My budgie loves the Canto. It's wide enough that he can flit from one side to the other. He also never used to play on the floor of the vision but he does in the Canto. Not only is the floor more comfortable on his feet but I think Squawk thinks if he can't see out then you can't see him at the bottom

I have a Ferplast Piano 6 and it's appro 85cm wide and 40cm deep, 70cm depth. I have had five budgies in it and it is wide enough to give them a good fly across. Hope that helps.

I wouldn't have another Ferplast after whet Edward did to the last one I had. The cage was a Piano 7 and was huge, a very spacious flight cage. Edward stripped the paint off all over the cage bars. That is why I got the Vision Large which was a great cage, but not for two hens and two cocks. So after a couple of weeks I changed it for the Hamberley. The best cage as far as I'm concerned. The vision with the grid in place kept loads of feathers in the bottom instead of on the living room floor. I still have the grid in the Hamberley and the buds have got used to it. I wouldn't like to think they were in the bottom scratting around in the poop, feathers and what have you. I keep paper in the bottom tray and no sooner have I changed it than it has poop in various places. No thanks my buds will have the grid in place.

It's the Hamberley I have too, and like OP, I think it's a great cage.

Thanks for all your replies! Superior Sky Blue, I live in London but we are only planning to get budgies around November, but if we decide to go on holiday In December, we will only get them next year I will have a google-search for the cages and write back as soon as I can! Thanks so much again!

All of them look really nice: I particullary like the Ferplast Canto- although I am unsure about the quality ?

The quality of the Canto is good. The cage is lovely and wide and I much prefer it to the Vision. I did consider the Hamberley cage but I dismissed it only on size really. I have a very small living room and I felt the Hamberley would have been too large, plus it was only for one budgie so the Canto is more than ample. skysmum has a Canto too. Look on her "only way is Budshire" thread. She posted a picture of the cage today that she's set up for her finches. She also has a Hamberley.

Sorry, for my first reply I meant OP, not Superior Sky Blue That's OK. That is the first time in my life I have been referred to as Superior.

Jane- thank you so much! Yes, we have a small living room too- so the hamberly is a bit too large Plus, the only way to keep a cage for me is on my desk- so no cage with a stand will be suitable... I think the Canto is really a great cage. I will definitely check skymums thread! Might I ask, why do you prefer the Canto? I have read reviews that the Vision is low quaity but then others say it is perfect

Jane, I have just seen skymum's cage with the finches- I really like it! It will be top of my 'cage possibility list' for now I do like the look of the ferplasts as well, and the vision is a suggestion as well.

The Hamberley is enormous! I find it easier to clean than the smaller ones they used to have. A good buy for the price but yes....huge!
