I've trawled the market for play stands. Trixie, the main company that seems to do them, also seems to have a problem with all their stands. Every type I've looked at I find at least one review with the same complaint - You have to put them together yourself and the slots are too small, the pieces flimsy, and all round they are poorly manufactured. So I never went for them. I could only find one other play stand that had reviews (wasn't going for one with no reviews), and so I ordered it. It's terrible! Plastic for one thing, and I don't know what kind of bird they were making it for but budgie? A robin might have been able to perch on it but a budgie, no way. The swing was narrower than a twig, I kid you not, and everything else was about the width of a twig and awkward shapes. No way could Bud perch on it safely or comfortably. I am now in the process of sending it back.
So what am I going to do now? The answer is simple, go back to The Natural Bird Co. I've gone back to their excellent service and discussed their stands, their prices and their timescale, and yes it may take three months for them to make, but I know I'm getting a QUALITY and SAFE product this time. Well worth the extra money and time.
Oh, and need I mention the lovely perch I bought for Bud from a certain pet store, which turned out to have poor Macaw sized rings on it! And what about the various swings and toys that turned out to be unsafe?
In my opinion there is no one better for a Budgie's toy and perch needs than The Natural Bird Co.

I agree with you ini, My birds have been through several of the trixie playgrounds and they are flimsy, the glue doesn't stick them, they fall apart. I have one that Karen and Darran from Natural bird product company made for me and it's great

I have one that Karen and Darran from Natural bird product company made for me and it's great I didn't know they made play gyms as they're shown as works in progress on the website. Roughly how much do they cost do you know?

They do them if you ask for them. I initially only asked whether they did them yet, and it turns out they do. I think the cost varies, depending on budget and what you want on it.

I can't remember what I paid, it depends on the size you want.

The price for a standard is about £150 I believe, but mine is only £50.

Mine was less than £50, but it's only the size of a trixie playground.

It's very sturdy. My budgies were scared of it for about three weeks

Yes ini they are very silly. They are scared of every new thing for a while Hezz, it's Red millet, sometimes I put it in the playground for them to find, keeps them busy for ages!

I use red millet too! Bud was so silly, being scared of millet. He's still a little afraid.

Silly Bud JoJo wont eat the normal millet, so I have to buy the red one. Sometimes she goes on hunger strike and wont eat her seed, so Red millet has to be fed to her to get her eating again!
