You were spoilt for choice in this months contest. How did you choose a photo?! I only took this one yesterday, and had already entered Boo looking up words in the Oxford Dictionary. However, doesn't matter how many I take, I always seem to pick the wrong one!

Getting bored with his look, Boo decides to try out some new face furniture. After considering his options, he opts for the Dundreary.

Well, it's been a sad week for budgies. My neighbour's budgie, Benji, died in my hands last Sunday. He called me to say something was wrong and could I help, but the poor little thing was too far gone. The life just drained away from her minutes after I got there. The next day he purchased a new pair, a beautiful cock and hen. But yesterday, just one week later, he called me again in a panic over the fence. And then the hen died in my hands, too. We think it was tricho, a highly contagious complaint. He's off the the vet to get some meds for the sad and lonely cock bird today. His young six year old daughter called the cock bird Boo, after my budgie, which I thought was very sweet. I do hope Boo the Second will be okay. It's very upsetting. Given how contagious it is, I showered and washed my hair, clothes and even my keys when I got back. I'd hate anything to happen to my bird. On a brighter note, my Boo has been buzzing around the house like some kind of superhero. Just landed, he's all puffed up and buff, looking a bit like Atom Ant.

You have taken care of all the precautions. I am sure Boo will be fine Thanks BB. I'll be keeping a close eye on him, just in case, as we've had a bit of contact with the neighbours over the last week.

After searching high and low, I found some French millet. It's quite different from the usual Chinese millet, which is much more tightly packed on the spray. As much as I can, I try to give him food that feels more like he's feeding and foraging naturally. I'm sure he likes to believe he's self-sufficient and fully capable of looking after himself (even if the millet came from a shop). He had his first taste today, and just loved it.

Adorable as he is, Boo has this awful fetish for my nose. I can actually see him fighting the urge to plunge his beak into that soft bit of fleshy skin on my nose tip. But he's just hypnotised by it. "Please let me do it. Please. Just the one bite. Just one, and I promise I won't ask you again...."Yeah, right. Heard that one before.
