Thanks for the offer skysmum - it's an egg-sighitng thought but I think we will pass on the offer of eggs. Mrs Meeps has laid just one egg and that was in the first full day after she moved in with Mr Meep (perhaps she was Miss Meep at the time??) Since then her plumage has become neat and tudy, her beak a lovely healthy orange and..... she sits next to Mr Meep very nicely at roosting time. But.... no more eggs (so far). We are in no rush.

Meeps and no eggs?! How'd you manage that?! I think they are a little shy with sixteen budgies keeping an eye on them from the other side of the aviary They are a bit slow all-round really. I have given them seeding grasses, spinach, grated carrot and a little hard-boiled egg. So far they have ignored the grass (that amazes me... they've not even played with it!), the spinach was ignored but the carrot and egg nibbled at a little. They are so slow to try out new foods... Perhaps when they move into a larger flight and have a pair of budgies as close neighbours they may cotton on. I'm in no rush to re-house them or offer a nest-box and they seem happy together...for now... I hope.
