Well what a few days I've had. I happend to look out the window on Thursday to see lots of my budgies all over my garden loose. As you can imagine i freaked out and my husband and dad went out too see what had happened and my aviary had blown over I'n the wind and they had just flew out the underneath. I've lost half of my stock and the main thing that has upset me is I've lost all of my first lot of babies that i ever hatched. I tried knocking at neighbours and I've hunted the streets but i haven't retrieved any at all. I just feel sick that this has happened and my babies are out there I'n the cold. I feel so disheartened and feel like just packing it I'n. So if anything good can come off this please make sure your aviarys are well weighted down as i thought mine was till this happened

i almost lost my tom the other day when moving him to a new cage - he managed to push his way out of my hand and flew straight for the window - it wasn't open enough for him to get out but i almost fainted (luckily instead of fainting like a f00l i dived to it and closed it before he had chance to get there) my heart was going 20 to the dozen so i'll make sure that doesn't happen again lol you never know - if you leave the aviary open some of them may find their way back to you (hopefully) but as people have said - it's a setback but well worth continuing - breeder's are getting short in numbers from what i've heard so the more we have the better

Oh Serz, that is awful, I am so sorry. Leave some food out just in case they do come back. Have you thought of contacting your local radio station and handing out flyers? Also put a message on www.parrotalert.com/I really hope you get them back.

So sorry Serz, i am afraid in these winds they will be miles away now.
Please describe your avairy and we can help others who may be in your posistion.
Be aware that all sheds and avairies need to be anchored down, i prefer them rawlbolted into a concrete base.
Contact me after Jan , i may have some free of charge young birds that will help you stock up.
Chin up
