OH and I spent the last weekend (Sat to Monday) staying at a little boutique retreat on the Atherton Tablelands, only about and hour and a half from home, but a whole different set of scenery, temperature, and wildlife. While we didn't get to spy a tree-kangaroo, or the platypus that the creek is well known for, I did get to see some birds that I hadn't previously seen in the wild ..... so I thought I would share. This is my only "own" photo: the king parrots hung out with the rainbow loris for feeding time in the morning. I love this one with the flower in his beak. While there were plenty of less colourful birds, and many of them similar to each other, all the little birds are so damn quick, I was flat out seeing them for myself, let alone getting a photo, so I am borrowing some from the internet to show them off. I hope you enjoy them. I could have gotten some photos if this little boy and his harem of girls but I didn't take the camera when I went to search him out ..... Red-backed fairywren: Red-browed finch: Yellow-breasted boatbill:

That sounds like a heavenly few days away, glad you enjoyed it. Lovely pictures even though only the first one is your own. Stunning birds you have in Australia Hezz.
