You did what you thought was the best thing for him, helenmat, although I can understand why you are beating yourself up about that decision; I would be doing the same. If we all had a crystal ball, though, there are plenty of decisions that we would make differently, if we knew what the outcome was going to be. At least Pickle was not in any pain, and never will be, now. Take some small amount of comfort from that. Hugs to you and Buddy. xx

I didn't really have much choice, like I say the lump was getting bigger by the day and couldn't have been left, we had it tested 3 weeks ago and it was found to be benign but it had trebled in size since then, it had stopped him flying properly so I know I did what I had to do. He would have suffered later otherwise. He was so strong though he was still himself through and through, and didn't alter his character one bit which is probably why I have found it tough to deal with him not making it. Buddy has been a bit better tonight, having a bit of a chit chat while sitting with me and hubby, he's shouted at me for trying to wipe poo up where he was sitting, he's taken exception to the cloth, cheeky boy!

I am glad Buddy is doing better, and coming to you both for company is a good thing for everyone.

Only just read this helenmat, my only excuse is that I don't visit this section very often because it upsets me so. I am so sorry for your loss. Pickle was a truly beautiful boy. You must be consolated by the fact he had such a wonderful life with you. Fly high little chap, you will be missed by us all.
