Today I decided to bite the bullet and let Billy and Lilly out the cage. They had a great time!! They were more interested in my son than the toys and bath I put out for them. They then watched me clean all the toys and cage. Nosey little birds! It was so cute to hear them call to each other when they landed on other sides of the room, they must like each other a lot! They both step up on to a stick for me, they will then run up my hand in excitement but wont yet come to my finger. It was so easy getting them back into the cage, i feel stoopid for worrying now! Uploaded with ImageShack.usSorry its so blurry, no one would sit still!

It's great that they aren't scared of you. They must trust you a lot It's a nice feeling isn't it.

I found it very interesting how they became different characters out of the cage. I cant wait till the next play time.
They still wont eat millet. I tried soaking it today, wouldn't even sniff it!!

Those two budgies look like they are conspiring for mischief! :-) I love the expression on your little boy's face.. :-) It's great when they come out for the first time and it's fun all round!

Lucky they went back in their cage okay. Especially at first, I had major problems with this. At night, I had to turn all the lights and the tv off to get him on my finger to go back in the cage. He'd fly up to roost on the chandelier, out of reach, and I had to keep a big ladder out and a torch for many weeks to get him. During the day, I had to keep a piece of millet or fresh seeding grass bunch in reserve to lure him back in.

That's so wonderful, Maggie. Everyone happy and peace reigned supreme! ;D The photo is gorgeous - birds look like they are cuddling and son just in awe.

They came out again today, left the door open for a bit then ..... whoosh out they came. Still not interested in the things i put out for them, they were on the floor wandering all over my sons wooden train set. They seemed most interested in his playing.
Went back in easily too, hopped on the stick and in they went.
