Hi all, 3 chicks here, have grown very well. Pictures below, I would like to know the sex of them and the specific mutations of their colours. Thanks.

The Yellow face may be a hen, does it have a white ring around its nostrils, difficult to see in the photo.

Thanks everyone for your input - I had a good look just now and it appears as though she does have rings around her nostrils. Here's a close up pic - had to get a friend to hold her cos she won't sit still !!! She also appears to have yellow colouring in her wings - if you look closely you'll see the yellow tint at the ends of her feathers.

Yes looks like a hen to me, see how it develops, the yellow in the wings is normal. It my wash right through the body colour depending which Y/F mutation it is, they can look like greens except under the wings which stay blue.Allan

Ive been thinking about this hen today, now photos can be deceiving but this may be a Golden Face and not a yellow face.To breed more it should be paired to a blue/grey and you will breed normals and golden faces.

Forgive me but, what's the difference? Would it help if I took more photos? She also has yellow feather in her tail if this makes any difference :s do you want a photo of the mother hen and father cock? hen full body colour greywing father normal grey Yes they are all lovely, the yellow/golden face is a very attractive bird, definately keeping her

Golden face genetics are not my strong point but here goes. One of the parents must be a double factor Golden face, that means that its parents were both Golden faces when you pair up 2 golden faces the resulting chicks are white faces but when bred with produce golden faces, I think thats how it goes anyway. The golden face is a much richer/deeper colour than the yellow face which is a more lemon colour. If you contact your local society they will help you Im sure. They are not just for exhibition breeders.Allan
