With great regret, my friend has decided to sell a bird of who is very special to him but sadly now fights with her sister so badly they draw blood, despite living together for their whole lives.
Juniper is a yellowface grey, she carries french molt so would be unsuited to breeders. She has still got brittle feathers but has all adult plumes and can fly, though prefers to scuttle along the floor like a small crab..!
She's approx 5 years old. Pet exhibition cross. She appears to have some psychological issues, and regularly screams, paces the perch like a tiger and has a propensity to pick fights for no reasonable reason. She's always had a good diet, excellent sized cages and seems in good health despite her FM. She will step up if you persevere, though tries to bite, so her owner has been using a glove of late to get her to step without drawing blood to his hand. She is highly dominant and will try all the tricks in the book to fool you into backing down.
Pictures to follow shortly once I get on the big computer.
She may suit an environment where she's the only bird and can have one on one TLC, or perhaps a place she can enjoy the company of others but in another cage to prevent breakouts of fighting.
Her owner isn't as adept at training routines as I am but I've tried to help and keep her home as long as I can, but he's got to the point where he feels he has no choice but to rehome her and do the kinder thing, where she can be given the time and training he can't supply with his work routine.
Please message me and let me know if you'd be interested.
I'm Kidderminster based. He's in Bromyard.
Many thanks
Sophie.
(Sorry - I've been away for a loooong time I know!)
