My Gregory died today after a sudden illness. He was having a problem standing on his perch. He went to the bottom of his cage in distress i felt helpless for him. Then he lay on his back and passed away. I held him in my arms and said goodbye to him. He was a very special bird who i rescued from outside my house nearly 3 years ago. He was weak with hunger and very thirsty when i found him. I like to think i gave him those extra years of life, had i not rescued him. Goodbye sweet Gregory

I am so sorry to hear about Gregory. He is probably already telling his new friends over at rainbow bridge how lucky he was that you rescued him & gave him a happy home. Fly high beautiful boy.

Gregory was very distressed before he died, he lost his tail feather. I will keep the tail feather as a memory of him. It only been a few hour's since he passed away, my home is so silent without his talking. He could say over forty different words. Thanks for your sympathy

summerbird I too lost a Budgie that talked, Pickle was like having a small child chattering away all day, it is so silent when they go. You gave him a very happy life by the sounds of it. Take care.

I'm so sorry that Gregory left you. You did a wonderful thing in giving him a loving home. It's so hard saying goodbye to friends that we love dearly.

Now six days since Gregory passed, i call his name everyday still can't get use to the silence in the house. As Gregory was a rescued bird i had no idea how old he was. I just guess he was about 4 years old. He could of been a lot older and old age was most lightly the reason he died suddenly. He was never ill during the 3 years i had him so never went to the vets. Kept his cage clean and fed him a good diet of bird seed, fruit and veg. And millet as a treat. I won't be replacing Gregory as he was a very special bird and no other budgie would be the same.

Take solace in that you gave him three extra years of happiness. If you'd not found him he probably wouldn't have survived.
I lost Bob the same day Gregory passed, he passed suddenly at midday after a short illness. Maybe they are both at rainbow bridge now flying about and swapping stories of their time with us.
We do all understand the grief you are feeling. Take care of yourself.

Feel for you, it's the same here, at least two or three times a day I whistle when entering the room. The house seems so empty without the little feathery fella.
