I looked on parrot alert, national pet register and petslocated and couldn't find anything.
To be honest I think that someone has let the budgie go because it looks sick.
Ninz and I have agreed that she's going to take budgie to the vet tomorrow and get it checked out.
If it's something that I can take care of like just scalyface and maybe a bit underweight then I'll take the budgie.
Keep it in quarantine in my bedroom for 4 weeks and hopefully it can join my lot.

Do you have a RSPCA rehoming centre near you? If so they may be able to take the budgie until they find him a new home. He's been through a lot bless him. Hope he gets a happy ending. I don't unfortunately, not that I am aware of but my vets can take the budgie in if I sign it over. They will keep the budgie for 10 days and treat it and then find it a home. However, I have someone who might take this budgie which would be a lot better, it all depends on the health.

I was going to mention you Marriane but wasn't sure if you wanted anyone to know it was you. Thank you for all your help, I do wish I could have taken this budgie. It's just not meant to be... yet!

I'd keep the budgie in a heartbeat if I could. My son has seen and was so happy clapping his hands and laughing at us. He obviously wanted to grab the cage but we didn't let that happen 😁 Im just so glad I was able to catch the little budgie as I was so worried if I would have been able to. I was running with the pushchair and from the other side it looked like I was talking to a car saying you're so good! 😂

I had a feeling Marianne Marlow you’d be kind enough to offer this little mite a home. Let’s hope and pray it’s nothing more serious than scaly face mite and exhaustion and he/she will recover to full health.

I echo skysmum well done ninz1. Excuse my manners for not mentioning it earlier. You’ve been that budgie’s guardian angel today that’s for sure.

This budgie is so lucky to be going to live with Marianne Marlow, he certainly has got his happy ending. Echoing what others have said, it makes my heart sink and my stomach lurch that someone may have let this budgie go because of scaly/illness. I know we don't know if this is the case or not, and it may not be. But I can't help thinking how scared the poor love must of been all lost in the big wide world Thank god you found him and helped.

So budgie is now asleep, has a blanket on the cage. I miss this. I had a little cry as it brings back all those memories of me and my budgies. They brought so much happiness into my life for 8 years.
The weird thing was that this budgie was acting frantic, running around, hopping from perch to perch and continously looking for an exit. Normal behaviour??
Do you think I should give him/her any fresh food like spinach, carrots etc or should I avoid until vets give the all clear? I just want this budgie to have the time of its life!

It's Ninz that rescued this budgie and did so well to catch him or her.
The running about looking for an exit is normal, they'll settle when they feel safer, it's all new to them.
I'd hold off on the veg until after the vet visit and until the droppings firm up.

I rescued it from the wild birds and from the crazy weather we've been having and perhaps from an uncaring owner but Marianne, you're rescuing this bird from all this and more. You're hopefully going to give it an amazing life and toys budgie will be loved with so many friends to play with too!
I haven't the budgie make a sound, I'm just glad it's safe now.
How long do you think this budgie could've been outside? I personally don't think it's been out for too long as it's feathers look alright but I'm not an expert in this. It was definitely more than a day or two as it was starving, poor baby.
I'll lay off the fresh food and might buy a toy at the vets for him/her to enjoy instead. It'll be my gift 💗

A good result all round. You don't need me repeating what has been said already, several times.
