Yes Hezz, but that was for storage, not the initial 'brewing' so I thought a brewing bucket would be fine. But, my mistake aye and I didn't read the recipe properly. I'm really bad for that, just skip over things and miss out the important bits!!

Shirls, that sounds so very blokey - not reading the directions properly.

A little update on the home made ACV. How many apples in the jar? 1st Day - 22nd August. With water and honey added. After stirring several times a day, day 5 Day 9, Frothy and smelling strongly of alcohol !! Day 10. Drained apples. Day 10. Hard ACV strained and left to stand. When the apples are removed from the ACV what is left is called the 'hard ACV'. This is left to stand for up to 4 weeks, starting to taste it at 3 weeks. The alcohol should then be gone and the liquid has turned to acetic acid which is the actual Apple Cider Vinegar. It will therefore be another three weeks before I can report on the results. Must admit, I tasted it today and it is really yummy, but obviously is still alcoholic, so will turn more sour in time!

You're braver than me, making this Shirls. I'd be worried it'd explode or I'd poison myself!

You're braver than me, making this Shirls. I'd be worried it'd explode or I'd poison myself! I've got to say Marianne, after brewing wine and beer in the past, I expected more of an active brew, but it only fermented very gently. So was quite relieved when it didn't all spill over fermenting!
