Patience people!!! Tomorrow is the first tasting day. No, it's NOT alcoholic Marianne!! It will be tasted to test whether it needs to stand a little longer (for whether it is strong enough). If not strong enough it has to be left for another week and another tasting. I will let you know. Must admit, thought earlier today that I just might taste it today!! Whether this works or not I shall definitely make another batch.

Tasting done!!! Thought it was a bit sharp, but when I tasted the Braggs organic ACV that I have ( only got a little left) it tasted EXACTLY the same!
I am so pleased! So will be bottling it today, it's not a large amount and will probably just about make three bottles which is perfect for me.
I'm not giving the chickens ACV at the moment as they have been poorly and they are on propbiotics which aren't compatible with ACV. So won't be making another batch quite yet, but I will definitely make it again, it's so easy. If anyone wants the recipe/instructions do please let me know and I'll put them up.

Well done Shirls. Glad you got the results you were looking for, you deserved it for the effort you put in. It really wasn't much effort jellybean, speaking as one who makes jam (that takes some effort!!) What size bottles you ask Hezz, well, I suppose 1pt bottles, approx one and a half litres in total. Got to get another bottle though and my daughter has one which she will bring over, as she is having some of the ACV. I should have taken photo's of said ACV in the gallon jar before bottling, but forgot, so here are the pics after straining the liquid from the sediment. It is a gallon jar btw. It is very pale in colour but I suppose a lot depends on the honey used, it was a very pale one that I used. this is more like the true colour. in this one it looks a bit pale.

It looks like the real deal, I have to say. Do you use a lot of ACV what with the girlies and the budgies? A litre and a half would last me .... probably the rest of my life, or go off, first!!!

As you will be aware Hezz, the budgies don't get through much, but the chickens certainly do when I give it to them. A couple of tablespoons a day in their water, and their water gets changed during the day when it's dirty. Plus, I drink it sometimes if I have a cold or have another rush of blood to the brain and drink it to lose weight. By all accounts ACV is not supposed to go off if stored in glass Hezz, but having said that, I wouldn't like to say how long it would last.

Yeah, I get you. Contamination can happen with just about anything, so breaking it up and storing in smaller bottles makes a lot of sense to me.

Well done Shirls, great job Looks fab. I'm using 10ml in 500ml of water for my budgies every day at the moment. Of course it's not homemade though!
