You're so right OP. Some people say that even with two budgies they cannot hear the TV, or the other person at the end of the phone talking to them!

I don't know what the bar spacing is on that cage as it doesn't say. You shouldn't have bar spacing larger than 1.5cm. Luckily not too many clients as I run an online business . I run/own the UKs leading Thomas the Tank Engine specialist retail site:)
Bar spacing on the Hamberley is 10mm so i am guessing that this is the same

If they are not able to come out, logistically, You need to make sure they have room for toys and still have a good flying area. would 2 buds perhaps be better?

I'd never assume that it's the same. They don't actually say it's the Hamberley cage, in fact it's not even in the birds section of the website. If the cage bar spacing ends up being too big then you'll have to send it back and that will be an almighty hassle.

The dimensions are exactly the same as 2 x Hamberleys but I will call them and ask the question . More concerned that the bars are vertical rather than horizontal though

Others here have cages with vertical bars and their budgies manage fine.

You could always drop them an email asking the bar spacing. As for the bars being vertical my lot don't seem to mind. They enjoy abseiling from top to bottom. I think they get some exercise by having to grip the bars. They also use the beak to climb with. If the bar spacing is the same as the Hamberley then I think you have found your cage.

Vertical bars are not a deal-breaker. The budgies will negotiate them without issue. I have one cage that has both and I detect no difference in their ability to scale either vertical or horizontal bars. Besides, they spend far more time on perches, toys etc.
And your study sounds like the answer to your problem.

tootally, that's the sort of thing I was thinking about, so well done finding it! By all means ask the question re bar spacing before putting any money down. Vertical bars are great. You only need horizontal bars if you have a disabled bird, perhaps. I have a disabled bird and she has no problems with vertical bars. I know disabilities are all different, but I have never seen any bud have trouble getting around vertical bars, not even the fat and lazy ones. Jane, I really think you should start your own thread for your personal situation.

Hi Steve, I have the single Hamberley cage, and my two boys love it, the vertical bars are certainly no problem for them. Agree with OP, IF the bar spacing is the same, you have got yourself a great cage.

I always feel that horizontal bars are better than vertical, but one of my cages has both. The budgies always seem to adapt, but if you could start from the beginning with horizontal, in my opinion, that would be the best option, but that is, as I said, only in my opinion. If you can let the birdies out in your office a Piano 6 would be fine.
