Wow how quickly that has gone, I remember your post so well. My grand daughter will be 5 in April and the other is 18 months old and the love books and they have a Toni where I read stories on my phone and it gets downloaded to a box at their end. So even though they don't see me very often, I'm always there to listen to. When they get a present in the post off me, they say it smells like nana, I hope that's a good thing.
Marianne those Toni boxes are really good, especially as loads of people can read stories, everyone has their own little figure to put on the box. So aunties, uncles and grand parents all can do it.

Thanks all for the best wishes! Oh yes jellybean, we read to her all day long. She will climb on our laps and hits us with a book. She has a particular love of Dr Seuss books, but also likes the three little pigs, little red riding hood and the billy goat's gruff (especially if we do the voices) Good to see her love of books Marianne, start them young. Do you read to her? Almost 2....Where does the time go 😮 I've never heard of a Toni, but it sounds great. Wow how quickly that has gone, I remember your post so well. My grand daughter will be 5 in April and the other is 18 months old and the love books and they have a Toni where I read stories on my phone and it gets downloaded to a box at their end. It's a great time as she is talking now, so it's easier for her to communicate what she wants. She has a set of cards with a picture and a word on them. Of course she cannot read, but she can name 27 of the pictures, which I think is pretty good. Her curly hair is lovely, but a bit of a pain to manage!! They grow up so quickly, cherish these first years. I would love just a few days back to spend with my kids as toddlers again. I adore her beautiful hair. Mine is poker straight, I've always wanted curls.

Don't need one, if I point to the budgies, she either says budgie or bird. I was astounded to know that she knows who Peter and George are and can point to them.

Ohhh bless little Eve, time indeed goes so fast. I can imagine the challenge to tame the beautiful locks Marianne, my grandaughter had a mass of golden curls like Eve's, she used to cry when we had to try and brush them so we discovered the tangle teaser brush, brilliant, no more tears. She is 15 now and her hair is as straight as a dye and she has a little Saturday job in a hairdressers, when they are open of course

Oh that is odd. So it was curly and now is straight. I didn't even know that could happen! Ohhh bless little Eve, time indeed goes so fast. My hair was very wavy/bordering proper curls, not as curly as Eve’s. Now very straight with an odd kink

Mine went the other way - straight as sticks as a child, now has quite a curl to it.

My hair was strawberry red/blonde and super curly as a baby/toddler, then went sorta wavy and darker blonde/light brown. 😅 If I treat it properly, I can get it into loose curls again. I can’t blow dry it or brush it though, except with a wide toothed comb. That may help with Eve’s curls as well. Regular brushes always always pulled my hair and hurt! I only use a wide tooth comb now (and hydrating coconut shampoo/conditioner )

Apparently you are not supposed to brush the curls on babies as it breaks them. My daughter just runs her hands through the little ones hair. We also have that stuff you spray on to wet hair and it brushes easier and stops it getting tangled.
