Yes, Owl arrived. So far the Owl has not helped Eve sleep. I think she's just too young for it at the moment. I'm sure she'll like it in the future Eve is a very bad sleeper at night time!

Both of mine were bad sleepers and no matter what I did, it didn't work. So just had to get on with it. Makes you feel inadequate when everyone else's baby sleeps and they brag about it.

It can be very very tiring.
Once you have been through the basics, nappy, food, attention then what do you do?!
She'll sometimes settle with me, if I hold her, but then I have to put her in her Moses basket and she starts all over again.
It's ether that or sit up all night with her..

My daughter hated being in her Moses basket. Never settled and was up all the time during the night. When I switched her to cot at a few months old she slept lovely in that which made me wonder if it’s because she couldn’t see out of the basket. Must be scary as they don’t know what’s happening.

My grand daughter hated the Moses basket too. We put her in the cot and put a soft blanket underneath the sheet. I know you are not supposed to have cot bumpers all the way around unless they are the free flow at type. Makes me wonder how my children survived according to today's what not to do's. Do you wrap her up in a cotton blanket to swaddle her, I think that works wonders. Some midwives say no and others yes. '

' I had the cot right against my bed so she could see me and it’s like we were in the same bed but she had the security of the bars to keep her safe. I never used cot bumpers. Don’t remember them being available 28 years ago and I’m not keen on them tbh.

Thank you clt80. I'm secretly hoping she'll be an avian vet when she grows up. Regarding the moses basket, she sleeps fine in it during the day. We do have a cot, but have not made it up yet as it's huge! I have swaddled her but Houdini keeps wriggling free.

My boys had a small cot until they were big enough for the larger one. I'm sorry you are having so much trouble with Eve sleeping, Marianne. The tiredness is the pits; I always (as much as possible, anyway) made a point of sleeping/napping with the babies did. It was the only way I survived those early days (and nights).

It must be so hard at night, I dunno if I'd be able to cope with that as I need my sleep all the time! Am sure you will find some sort of routine where she will settle, even for a few hours at least, fingers crossed it gets better for you both

You'd cope, Sam. You cope because you have to, because a little being depends on you.

Eve is 14 weeks old today. She's grown so much! Plus, she has started sleeping through most of the night. She slept 9pm til 6am last night. I don't usually go to bed until midnight, but still 6 hours sleep is great.

Oh Marianne, she is just adorable, she's as bright as a button in that picture. You're such a good girl Eve, sleeping through the night for your Mummy 😚😚
