Millet is a great motivator. I'm currently teaching my conure to wait on his perch when I open his cage door, to wait for an invite out rather than pushing past. It's working most of the time ... except when he needs a poop!

Hey. Looks pretty cool. I was thinking of getting one too. But its overshooting my budget. Are there any cheaper alternatives? Do you get similar cages in offline stores too?

Got mine from Zooplus, mine is the mo1 , plenty big enough for one bird...as long as they come out a lot . Also I have had perches etc off Zooplus all good prices. Plus they are a very good company to deal with. I am waiting for a parcel from them today...

Thanks a lot for the info guys. But I've never ordered online. How's the overall experience? I mean, do they accept returns without any fuss, if something is broken?
A friend was also telling me about Pets at Home. Anyone heard of that company? Are they any good? I've used the grooming services there for my dog. But I've never tried their products.

I looked in P@H and they only had one bird cage. It was a vision one but a smaller size, and dearer than Zooplus. I use Zooplus often (I've guinea pigs too) but never had to return anything, but their reviews say they've very good customer service.

Sorry but I think Pets at Home are useless as far as budgies are concerned, pricey too!

Is Zooplus not the company where you need to spend X amount of money before they even accept your order?
That put me off them a while ago when I tried to buy something for the boys.

Certainly before free delivery, but I don't think there's a minimum order. I may be wrong though, as I can't really remember what I've spent in the past.

I think it’s free after you spend £29. That goes for most companies. I think they are a very good firm to deal with. A while back I sent for a rope ladder for the cage and it was far to big ( my fault) , I phoned and asked for a free returns bag, and they said they would credit my account and I was to give the item to a local animal sanctuary..

I am a newly 'bereaved' budgie owner as my quirky Joe died yesterday so I am gazing at budgies!

Zooplus excelled themselves and delivered Stuart's new Hagen Vision L01 within 48 hours. I had fun setting it up, and he seems to love it already. He flew straight in too as soon as I put it in place of where his original cage (now his travel cage) had been. Any suggestions or comment as to the set up would be greatly appreciated. I've two Y shaped wooden perches and a nest hammock toy on order which I'll use to change it up a bit. The wooden perch is a piece of willow I got in the park near my house and he seems to love it. I've also used the perches supplied with the cage. I've put in his original white food and water containers until he finds the new ones.

I think Pets at home is rubbish now for bird stuff. They used to have a good bird section but it’s got smaller and smaller.
