This weekend we traveled 1.5 hours away to a fairgrouds (each day, we did not get a motel) to take part in a UKC nosework trial! Even though it was very cold, and we crate in a damp barn, it was still a great time as always! I'm very very proud of my pug! He completed his superior title, got a 1st place Q in master vehicles, and got high in trial!!!

Well done to you both! Could you give a short explanation on what each is, please? His set of ribbons certain look impressive. Thank you! Master level is right below Elite, which is the top level. So things are definitely challenging for us at this level! Sure can! This is for UKC nosework, where dogs compete in novice, advanced, superior, master, or elite levels in containers, interiors, exteriors, and vehicle searches. More and more scents are added as you go up in levels, and toy and/or food distractions are added. You cannot see where the scents are hidden, or most food distractions. The scents are birch, anise, clove, myrrh, vetivir. From left to right, top row: High in Trial ribbon: He had the fastest time for a qualifying run in the vehicles section of the trial Overall Superior Title ribbon: He completed all 4 elements (2 qualifying runs each of containers, interior, exterior, vehicle) at the superior level New Title Ribbon: This is for completing his superior vehicles title (2 qualifying runs) Qualifying run ribbon plus 1st place: for his masters vehicle run Qualifying run ribbon plus 3rd place: for his superior vehicle run It's a lot of fun running this sport, and any dog can compete! Even blind, deaf, and wheelchair dogs. He enjoyed running agility, but he LOVES this. You could walk through with a chicken dinner, and he wouldn't even look at you once I give his search command!

Thank you for the explanation. It sure does sound like a lot of fun for both dog and owner.

I love hearing about active senior dogs!! We ran in the Pug Fest races on Saturday. My pug came in 1st, and 2nd place was a 12 year old little petite pug!
