What a lovely way to end the day, jellybean! I would have been chuffed to bits, too. I think the yellow-faces are some that show up differently in different lights - that suffusion of colour through their base colour.

Milk Thistle for your budgie, how very interesting. Forgive me if I've missed any of this but is that to protect the liver? Milk thistle is quite a widely regarded liver tonic, not only for birds but humans as well. Budgies with fatty liver disease generally do better and show improvement when milk thistle is added to their water. Some people will tell you that you shouldn't use it without the input from a vet (avian).

Just wanted to add here I found out the other day that if your bird has a liver problem then you shouldn't give them acv as that makes it worse?

I don't know if it is Marianne 😓 The mornings he's very chirpy, he has a fly about, then lands on his boing and chirps for me to give him a swing 🤣
Then he sits for what seems like hours on the bracket that holds the curtain rail, until he decides he wants to eat.
He's still comes to me at night for his goodies. But do we have a bond......I just don't know ☹ I can only keep trying and maybe patience will win in the end.
Thanks for asking Marianne.

It's good that Ben is interacting with you. Do you have the radio on for him?
When it's quiet, mine are quite still.

I ask Eric what he's been doing when I come home. If he ever answered me I would fall off MY perch!

He is interacting with you, and that's good. He knows you are there; you are his safety net. I find my (older) boys spend less time on the kitchen windows than they used to, even though they still go for their mad flying sprees (maybe a little slower than before). They tend to alternate between the gym on top of Loki's cage and hanging around Mango's. After having his bestie beside him all his life, he is bound to be a little lost for some time. xx

I know Hezz, that's the bit I find so hard to handle every time I look at him. But thank you for the reassuring words. I can only hope that with each passing day, comes a little bit more progress.

Totally agree with Hezz, you do have a bond with him otherwise he wouldn't interact with you! But I understand how you feel, because you have had a loss it makes you feel like you dont know anything about budgies anymore and it clouds your judgement. Dont be so hard on yourself!!! Ben loves you more than ever now as he would be TOTALLY lost if you weren't there xx
