Yes probably Hezz thats the idea. He will stay on my shoulder for about 2 minutes but I have to be stood at my desk at the moment. If I sit down he flies off. Funny bud!

Hope so suesbird. When I've had birds that will stay with me all over the house I feel very unloved by Eric. How are you doing after all thats happened?

I guess he just feels safe in his cage.

I guess he just feels safe in his cage. Yes he definitely favours being in rather than out. I just find it odd as non of my other birds have wanted to stay in. It just shows they are all different.

We are doing ok. I can't let him out at the moment as we have a dog we are looking after. I can't put Ruby outside as she likes to be wherever I am. I do go and talk to him, so does hubby and he will come across to us. Fingers crossed he will come and get close to us again. Ruby dog going home Wednesday so he will be out. My 3 year old grand daughter comes on Wednesday and she helps feed him and likes him flying around. I will just see how he goes on, if he is really not happy then we will have to get a playmate but he has found all his mirrors again so chirps constantly and I mean constantly. I think time is what we both need Helen. Xx

I think you Sue, Helen, and myself find ourselves in similar situations, all left with birds who had little friends, and are now lone birds
Ben just refuses to interact with me unless it's to feed off my hand at night or to get me to swing him on his boing.
Been talking to OH AGAIN about getting another. I just don't know what's best to do for Ben
Would you consider another Helen?

At the moment we have said no. We have had so much heartbreak with them I just don't think I can stand it. I really miss the closeness I had with Pickle but I know it is selfish of me. I miss the interaction between two birds also but Its just too upsetting when you loose them.

I know Helen, I had that same bond and closeness with my first wee boy Charlie. When he passed, and I got Ben & Max I loved seeing them interact with each other. I don't have that closeness with Ben, and doubt I ever will, and now he hasn't got Max.
I'm between a rock and a hard place, if I get another and they dont get along, I'll feel terrible for upsetting Ben.

Sorry Helen, I didn't mean to hijack your thread with my dilemma over Ben, I can totally sympathise with your situation as it's similar to mine.

Don’t be silly jellybean I didn’t even consider you had hijacked. We are all in a similar boat, ultimately trying to do what we think is best for us and our budgies x

It's good to share experiences we can learn from them.
