You can only work with what you can source, lemonora, and I am impressed with your dedication to the effort of giving your buds the best that you can. Big thumbs up from me.

This is what I'm giving my budgies at the moment, it's budgie bravo, with a tiny bit of tonic seed and a tiny bit of trill. Plus some dry eggfood on the side (they don't get that every day, but then they only take a little of it anyway)

That is if I found a good one :/ I usually give them boiled eggs once a week or so with grated carrots and seeds, is that enough? They never used to go near it but i kept making it and recently they actually ate from it any input is greatly appreciated And thanks again I have learned a lot from all of you and I’m so glad I found this great forum ❤️

If you give them boiled eggs once a week or even every two weeks and they all eat it then you don't really need the dry stuff. When I put out fresh egg, hardly any gets eaten, my big egg eating budgies have all passed away now I think it would just be Blithe and George that nibbled it.

So sorry to hear that you lost your buds ☹️ I can’t imagine how awful that must feel thank you for your egg input I just hope they keep eating from it thanks again Marianne

They don't need egg all the time, lemonora, but when moulting it can help them with the necessary protein to grow new healthy feathers. Egg is quite a rich food and can lend them towards obesity if given all the time. I have removed it from my fat-boys diet - they were enjoying it a little too much.

It's funny Hezz, but Hector, Custard and Sky LOVED egg, but none were overweight. Sky was the fastest, most energetic bird and he lived to 12 years old.

Ohh good to know Hezz thanks I will limit it to when they are moulting then, I sure don’t want them to get fat and sick. thanks again for your input ❤️

Marianne, Sky sounds like he was such a nice, healthy and happy bird ❤️ He was an amazing little guy. I had him from age 4 until 12. When he came to us he had never been outside of his cage, but he put that right by living 8 years here, zooming about enjoying every moment. He was always the first to enjoy new foods and loved to land on us.
