It’s that time of year again where our homes are over run by the giant house spiders. Last night I had to evict three of them from my lounge, the two behind the fire surround were so massive that instead of the usual glass to catch them, I had to use a glass dish with a larger diameter rim. They were not slow either. The thing I hate about spiders is when they scurry along and sneak up on you, it’s only when you see a sudden movement in the corner of your eye and there they are!

i HATE them and am scared, even though that is in theory, ridiculous. Had a big one in the lounge last Sunday, but nothing to hand.. Aimed to get it, slipped and landed on my right side, luckily missing the table.. but the pain since.. obv strained a rib badly. so now I hate them even more!
agree, it is the scurrying.. and it bothers me it could be on my bed if I don't get it in time......always been scared of them, since a kid

I lift my pillow every night before I get into bed, just to make sure 🤣🤣

It felt better until I sat in a chair a bit far back, then when trying to get off, agh. Who’d think could do that over one slip eh

STEVEX !.! What the hell is that, please tell me it’s just a picture and not the one you caught........I have got the shivers just looking at it..... OMG it’s SOOOOOO BIG!! My hubby was once on a late shift and I went up to bed about 10-30....and on the top step was the HUGE MONSTER of a spider....Now don’t get me wrong I don’t wish them any harm but I am ashamed to say I stood at the bottom of the stairs and sprayed it with fly killer....it curled up and died....or so I thought.....,I crept upstairs and when I got to the top step....it ran right in front of me.... Hubby didn’t get home until 2-30.....and I had to sleep on the settee 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Can't stand the damn things. I don't even like to see or say the word sp!der. In fact, I call them Barrys after reading a very entertaining review on Amazon for a Barry catcher where the buyer named the beast he was trying to remove, Barry. (Wish I could find that review again - I can't remember if he solved the issue by moving out. )

Apparently, I heard on the radio the other day that we have an unusual number of house spiders in the uk at the moment due to the hot weather we experienced in the summer. And of course as the nights get colder they all come in from the outside anyway!! Double whammy!!
