Came across this photo the other day - a delivery for them. The top right toy was very popular with Perry & Lennie. They would pull out all the raffia & make a terrible mess!

What a wonderful selection!! I confess to only having one playgym, and it’s plastic. Definitely need new ones. These are Munchy’s toys: The hook broke off the top of the swing mirror so it’s just a mirror now. He doesn’t really play with the rings or quadruplet Kevins unless I attach a preferred Kevin to the bottom, but I guess that’s no different to a budgie that only really likes things with bells on. A lot of the spinning things he spins a bit but mostly just tells them he loves them. The two-coloured Kevin is mostly ignored. Need to decide what to thread on the skewer. He’s not interested in the swing unless I hang a Kevin so he has to get on the swing to reach it. And goodness knows why I have three bells. Ducky is a favourite. And Jeffrey, the plastic budgie that sits on a perch, gets battered about.

Those look fun, Sweetpea! Marianne Marlow I think with only having Munchy I've been concerned about making sure he isn't bored.

I do think single budgies do play more than those in a flock, even if that is a flock of only one other.

Brodie has a HUGE collection of toys & is busy literally all day. As he’s a single bud I’m so glad & when I’m stuck in bed I can hear him busily playing away (I can tell where he is & what he’s playing with from the different sounds he makes & the sounds the toys make of course). He has the usual stuff - bells (I daren’t count up how many bells!), penguins, Kevins, his play gym & a window perch etc. But he also gratefully accepts things that would otherwise be binned, such as a broken plastic screw part of an old toy, old dice etc & is ecstatic to receive the contents of Christmas crackers (friends actually save them for him!) especially spinning tops, he’s got a fine collection now & loves stamping on them to stop them mid spin & shuffling them back & forth listening to the noise he can make. Some of his favourite toys are old plastic tat - treasures to him & it makes me feel better that they’re not getting binned & provide so much pleasure! He also loves the broken 1/2 of a giant Kevin that is now filled with large beads - he spends ages trying to get the beads out & he loves knocking things down, eg an old sherbet fountain bottle filled with lentils, or when I build up a tower of various toys for him - he would be quite happy for someone to sit on the floor all day building them up for him!

Eric has loads of toys but doesn’t really play with any of them.

Brodie sounds like a very content little bud, starrymist, mostly due to his huge range of toys, I'm sure.

Sometimes I wonder if he’d like a friend but honestly I don’t know if he could be any happier. I’m always looking for ways to enrich his life, luckily he’s quite easily delighted by most things! 😂

That's awesome, starrymist! It's lovely when they take an interest in lots of different things! Makes me want to offer more variety, but I think Munchy's more stuck in his ways now. Old Man Munch.

They do, don't they? When I first got Smudge, I remember describing Bluey to my vet as a middle-aged, slightly paunchy accountant peering over his half glasses while Smudge was like the punk or goth girl on the school bus. They were so different, they were hardly of the same species.

Blue spent a lot of time giving me that "What have you done?" look, and I think wasn't truly happy again until Sparky came to save his sanity. Smudge was a full-on bossy-boots. So, my advice would be ... for Munchy's sake ... DON'T GET A HEN!!!
