How old was Fauna skysmum? Not to detract from this sad event but was just wondering what is the lifespan of a Meep usually?

Thankyou all She's been better since Betty and Frank came in but nothing prepared me for the reaction she gave when 3 of the Budgies came in late this afternoon, she went nuts, very chatty and bouncy . Ive always thought the twins felt they were more Budgie than Meep, they always enjoyed the company of the buds because they are no threat, unlike their own . I would love nothing more than to put her in with the other Meeps but they would bully her or worse, such is the nature of Meeps All the first baby's were three on the 20th samwiseg , they can live up to 15 years in captivity but 2-5 is more usual.

Aww, she wants her budgie friends, that is so sweet. Budgies are such companionable little guys, and so accepting of others, evidence your Meeps and my conure. xxx

That is lovely that she is getting comfort from your gang bless them! Just goes to show how the flock mentality makes all birds feel safe and secure

Thanks Jane, they are such tiny mites but generally very hardy, possible underlying problem maybe something you couldn't see, who knows Your right Hezz, the buds are amazing when it comes to others, ive never seen them deliberately strike out to harm the meeps, they would just rather move out of the way and are if anything wary of THEM, especially Frank when he's on one On the up side, Flora is a very happy girl at the moment, she is out larging it up with the Budgies and is in her element, it looks like she has even decided to move house, she appears to have taken over the Montana cage, we shall see later if she moves back for her own bed.

My Dad used to have finches and we had a white one that we called Pele as it liked to play football with a ping pong ball. Something had happened to it previously that meant it couldn't fly but it always seemed a happy little thing. I was only a child but I remember having fond memories of that little bird.

They are incredibly endearing for sure Helen, ive learnt so much from these adorable little souls, they maybe be tiny but they have such huge personalities and are very intelligent too, more so than Budgies sometimes

That answers my question on your blog ... whether Flora had moved house in with the buds.
