Every week on a friday my local radio station gives away money . All you have to do is text in a multiple choice answer and someone is randomly drawn and given the money. Every friday for nearly 2 years I've entered so that's nearly £100 I've spent trying to win now, is it time to give up?? Other things I haven't won recently include the health lottery, a beautiful range oven and a camera... Every time I enter I'm convinced that this time I'll win it though which isthe saddest thing about it!! The next thing on my list not to win is a family holiday to Legoland Florida, I think the closing date for the competition is this week. I haven't told my youngest I've entered as the disappointment of not winning that will probably be too much for him to bear!

I know the feeling, Sarah. I have only ever won one thing in my life. One of the sad things was someone else won too, so we had to share. Second sad thing was it was only a six pack of beer, so ended up with three each. Third sad thing was I didn't even like that beer! My husband is so sure we are going to win a "big one" and buys lotto and things - I would rather he kept the money in his pocket.

Don't feel bad, Sarah. I have never won any competition or lottery I have ever entered. There are so many 'professional' competition enterers that I think it's difficult for us mere mortals to ever win a prize.

It is just a way to keep people tuned in to their radio channel. What are the prizes by the way?

They give away £2000! It would be lovely to have- my car would like to see a bit of money spent on it for sure... Still hoping for the holiday to Legoland, my youngest is completely lego crazy, he'd love it so much! We'll still have plenty of camping trips this year though, everyone enjoys them and you don't need to win money to go as we have the new forest quite near with oodles of campsites to choose from. Our favourite one is called Sandy Balls- no it's not a joke I promise! Google it even!

We are very lucky! We always stay in our tent but those log cabins are beautiful and have barbecues, benches and little private gardens for those that don't sleep under canvas! We go for some really good walks around the forest and my son fishes in the river. The little playgrounds are great for my youngest and if we don't want to cook there is a little takeaway food place. What more do we need?

You don't need legoland, Sarah. Nature is a much better teacher.

I hear what you're saying Hezz, there's no denying that there is a lot of brilliant things about being outdoors. Probably just as well as we won't win the legoland holiday anyway!! Here's hoping that we have a lovely warm summer this year so we get out plenty of times

Hey I just had an ingenious thought! We can't go on holiday cos we have nine budgies to take care of right? Well how about a budgie house swap holiday scheme? People with budgies swap houses for the week so that they get a holiday and also they take care of eachothers pets Also fills the gap of missing your budgies cos you get to look after and feed someone elses.

It's a good idea Marianne. Maybe we need a link on here so interested members can register their interest?
