I'm so sorry to read this skysmum. When Cora went blind I brought her in and she quickly learned the layout of the cage and where everything was, amazing really. I took her the vet and they did give her antibiotics as they thought it was a viable option. Thinking of you, I know how heartbreaking it is when you realise they can't see.

Ive been trying to post on and off today but my trackpad kept seizing up, hopefully OH has sorted it now. Thankyou all for your kind thoughts with my little PC Bertie. I have been close to ringing the vet on a few occasions this week but i'm almost sure he has had some sort of neurological episode, i have noticed today he has a very slight left side weakness and he is very frightened atm so i dont want to cause any stress which could trigger another one, it's very hard . On the plus side i think he is noticing light and shade today, up until today he has not reacted to my hand coming up and around his cage near his head, today he was reacting and moving his head towards the shadow, i'm praying for at least a little sight to come back. Here he is in his car crash cage, it looks like spaghetti junction but he feels his way around with his beak. I have to hold his millet treat right to his beak to get him started and when i then pin it to the perch he searches until he finds it love him. He looks very like your little Cora clt80 .

Oh bless him but encouraging re the light and dark. He must get so much comfort from hearing you. He’ll know he’s safe. I’m glad he’s able to move about. So hard to watch, though for you. I hope he continues to improve

Fingers crossed for some more improvement and no further episodes. Animals adjust so much more quickly to set backs like this than we humans do. While we are railing against the woes of the world they are simply going "such is life", and get on with it.

Just clearing my throat Hezz. Erm, Erm. I know what you mean though, but us humans do have to adapt when things do strike. I'm glad there is some improvement skysmum. I supppose it's like all stroke victims that do regain some function. Long may it contimue.

Gosh, yes, he does look like Cora skysmum. I've been thinking about bertie all last night. I understand what you are saying re: him being frightened, and I think you're right not to cause more distress with a vet visit. I really hope his sight, even if only partially, comes back. With Cora I don't think it was a stroke, I think it was something else. Nevertheless, if she'd not started with the twitching I'd of been confident she'd of still had a happy life with a few adjustments made for her.

Haven't been on her for a couple of days and am so sorry to read this about Bertie skysmum. Like others have said I hope he improves as days go by, sounds promising if he can see light and shadow. Bless him, such a beautiful little boy. Thinking of you both.
