I have just woken up from the strangest dream. I was on a lunch break from work but ended up miles away in some awful shop where they had budgies.
One was dreadfully ill and I picked her up and said let me buy her and take her to a vet then home with me. The dream went on, but what has made it bizarre is this budgie - that they were calling Sarah - was so similar to my beloved Harriet who passed earlier this year.
Does anyone else have weird dreams like this that seem real?

Yes, I believe we all have those dreams that seem so real. That was just little Harriet coming back for a visit and saying "thank you for caring for me".

Most of the dreams I have about my budgies are anxiety dreams.
I usually dream that I'm in an unfamiliar place with them and there are open windows up high that I can't close, so I have the frantically try and get them in cages.

I also sometimes, rarely, do have dreams that budgies that have long passed, are back with me. Those are nice dreams and it feels like the budgie is still alive. I get sad when I wake and they are still gone though.

Funn you should say that Marianne Marlow but was just about to post that I sometimes dream of budgies that I have never had before and they disappear as if I have only had them for 2 days and as I keep trying to look for thm my brain then decides to tell me they have passed away as if it was something I did or didn't do?!

I had to read that twice Sam!
The anxiety dreams Marianne sound like nightmares. I have plenty of nightmares but luckily none have been about budgies.

Yes, I guess they are nightmares. I suppose we all get those about our budgies.

I have those 'anxiety' dreams too - centred around the budgies escaping. I have had these dreams from a child when I had a budgie that did escape.

Might be Harriet telling you that there is another bud needing a new home.

Argh that is pulling on my heart strings Hezz!!!!
In all seriousness i would never ever turn one away but after all the losses, in particular last year, I stopped actively looking. I use to browse and any unwanted old ones I'd drive to, pay for, then bring home. I must have secured my place in heaven surely!?
