Yes! That's right Marianne you have a great memory! She broke her toe, had an xray and had it plastered up for weeks. I sobbed and sobbed over that at the time she had been in so much pain. Henry was obsessed with her, always trying to sleep in her cage. Auntie mabel. She's Agatha sister, apart from their throat spots they are identical, twinnies I call them. Mabel, Agatha and Ralph are the ones I've now had the longest. Just hoping I can help Agatha through this so she can be with us longer.

How could I forget, you went through such anguish over her toe!
How old are Mabel, Agatha and Ralph?
Are they all exhibition birds?

I would take no notice of that vet's advice and give the baytril as you would normally do, NOT diluted and NOT trying to force-feed a budgie a day's worth of drinking water. What a waste of space she is!

Marianne Marlow they are almost 6 now, no not exhibition birds, they are tiny. Hezz unbelievable isn't it, and I paid a handsome sum on Saturday when I went to see this vet.

The baytril has not worked.
I stopped it and gave her some s76 this morning, another dose tomorrow and im going to use a cotton bud to put on her feet for a week. After the diluted s76 in her water tomorrow she will could go on iodine in her water.
I'm going to give this a try before I go back to vets to ask for a fungal medicine. It's hard to know what to do for the best. Any suggestions welcome x

I would definitely give the iodine a go, since the Ab's haven't worked. Three drops into 100mls of water for two weeks will see a change if a change is going to happen. Fingers crossed that something works.

I could hear Agatha squeaking from the bedroom, she's in the office next door and the door is closed. I am gutted. I bought an air purifier and it's just arrived so I've set it up in there with her. She starts on the iodine tomorrow, she's has s76 for 2 days in her water, I'm still going to apply topically for 6 days. Since she came in I don't recall her clicking and squeaking to be as bad as it is tonight..... Am I grasping at straws hoping it just dander and that this air purifier may help her? I guess I am. I really don't want her to suffer and I don't want to lose her.

You are doing everything you can to help her. I really hope either, or, or both help her through this. All you can do is try. Everything crossed from my end, as well.

I think I may have to make the dreaded phone call to the vets today. Agatha is no better. I nearly made the call Monday but felt she rallied a bit. My mind keeps going back and forth, I don't want her to suffer like Betty did but if she has a bit of quality of life left I'd like her to have it.
