Bedtimes are a nightmare. For some reason the new budgies just don't like to settle down at night. They climb the cage bars, hop about from perch to perch and just generally be annoying.

Hmm... bad night time experiences with the cat in their previous home, perhaps?

Hmm... bad night time experiences with the cat in their previous home, perhaps? Could be! I hope that they start to feel safer soon.

I hope so too. I'm sure they'll start to realise that your house is a safe place. Edit: Marianne Marlow Do you have an air purifier or something that makes white noise and does it run at night? Tom suggested something like that if you don't, as apparently it can help other animals. Not sure if it would or wouldn't, just throwing a thought out there.

Ooooh i almost missed this news, look at them all together for their school pic , you can certainly spot the first years at the back flanked by the more mature members of the class keeping a beady eye on them A full house again Marianne, just lovely. It's beginning to feel a bit thin on the ground in Budshire if i'm honest, long time since i only had 5 . I can offer you two more, Skysmum! Marianne Marlow Love the school photo! And night times sound like a fun game! For the budgies at least. Three here as well ðŸ¤

I did buy an air purifier quite a few years ago but I kept forgetting to use it and it became furniture so we chucked it out.

I sympathise with you Marianne, still have the same problem Marianne Marlow with all the squiggling at a night time, by just having the two newbies. Have had a couple of good nights, so they must be settling down a little better. Takes time though!

Tell me about it Marianne, drives me crazy some nights! One night they were particularly bad and I got up from my seat and in a very firm voice said 'RIGHT, THAT'S IT!!! BED TIME NOW!' Covered them up and I didn't hear another peep! Don't suppose it would work very often though! But, as I said, they are getting better, slowly.

That sounds very much like my evening!
I go out to the kitchen to wash up the budgie stuff and Eve's bottles and the little blighters in BOTH cages are squiggling like mad. It makes the process take so much longer.
I need a stiff gin when it's all finished with.
