I'm wondering if Bertie was much younger than his previous owner thought he was. He should be 7 months now according to them. His cere is still purple and his iris rings are not white yet. He must be even younger than the newbies as the boys ceres are all blue already. I used the flash, his cere isn't as light as the photo shows, it's a purple colour. Bertie is the big blue budgie at the front. The white budgie is Blithe and the hen is Lucy.

His spots appear mature, his colouring may or may not be, hard to tell with flash. His face looks like it could still be pale. The bars are more mature but no iris rings.
He is a little hard to tell. Low testosterone (or budgie equivalent) levels, perhaps?

He has iris rings but they are a sort of brown. When he came to be 2 months ago he had none.
I'll try and upload a better photo that I took earlier with no flash.

This was taken earlier. This is far more representative of his colouring.

I took a close look at Tweetie Pie's eyes and they look just like Bertie's. I don't know Tweetie Pie's exact age. I got him Sept 29 and I thought he was 6-8 weeks old at that time. That would put him at about 6 months now. Tweetie Pie is also now molting just like your Bertie.

I'm thinking he might be able 6 months too. I can see little hints of blue on his cere. What is tweetie's cere like?

Peri's eyes are the same too, he's just starting his moult. His cere seems to have gotten paler than when I first got him, leading me to question whether he is male, but is still definitely purple with hints of blue.

Bertie's cere and iris rings should put him into the 4-6 months old bracket Marianne, he looks to be going through a first moult too. He's a gorgeous chap M

He's a gorgeous chap M He must be about 5-6 months then, cos I have had him 2 months already Weird that I was told he was 5 months old, 2 months ago. But then I was also told he was female.

You just have to love it! Tweetie Pie does have the pin feathers on his head and he's getting more every day. Sounds like Bertie and Tweetie Pie are close to the same age.
