Today OH, myself, my daughter and little Tommy went up to London to the Saatchi gallery to see the very last Tutankhamun exhibition to come to the UK. The tickets were a Christmas gift to us from my daughter an Tommy. It was very special for me because in 1972 when i was, cough 14, my mum and dad took me up to see the first UK exhibition which i was desperate to see. Alas in those days you just turned up and took pot luck and after 2 hours of queuing my dad, who wasn't the most patient man, refused to to stand there any longer and they took me to Madam Tussauds instead, to say i was disappointed would be an understatement . This sob story has been told numerous times over the years , so imagine my delight at receiving this gift. It was brilliant and of course with things being a little better organised these days our tickets brought us our own time slot so it was guaranteed that we actually got to see it this time . I can highly recommend it an it's on until May, but you have to book

It does sound like a lovely day, skysmum and well worth the 48 year wait. To my mind the tickets aren't exorbitantly over-priced, either.

I am nothing if not patient . I would have paid more Hezz , it was well worth it and cheaper than going to Egypt

Ohhh don't Hezz , each time we have thought about going something happens out there so we have been a bit put off. Would love to do it one day though

Safe enough, since had already traveled through some other, more dodgy, parts of Africa.

I also went on my own, probably late 80s.. you meet up easily with others doing tours etc. uni I got so sick, from whatever.. so it took the edge off.. but an amazing place to go to
